A Sedimentation Study for the north end of Vaseux Lake was completed in early 2022.

Vaseux Lake Water Quality & Other Issues

Thanks to a $25,000 grant awarded to the Vaseux Lake Stewardship Association, a 2-year water quality assessment was done and the report was completed in early 2019.

Ongoing Water Quality Analysis and Testing

In the spring of 2020, the Vaseux Lake Stewardship Association applied for a $6000.00 grant from the Okanagan Basin Water Board to conduct water quality analysis on Vaseux Lake over a two year period.

Flooding

In 2016 and 2017, and again in the spring of 2020, Vaseux Lake was looking at its highest water levels ever. Here is the B.C. Ministry of Environment’s plan for the area and how to protect your property.

Wildlife

Every year in British Columbia up to 800 bears are destroyed! Garbage, bird feeders and tree fruits can attract bears to your yard, family, and neighbourhood. Once a bear becomes used to human food sources it becomes habituated, usually resulting in the bear being destroyed. It is important to keep wildlife wild and communities safe.

LOVE the geese? Please don’t love them TOO much! Vaseux Lake has more than its fair share of geese, which is why goose eggs are ‘addled’ in the spring. Learn more about the addling program:
