The main objective of the Vaseux Lake Land Use and Water Quality Assessment was to determine likely sources of nutrients and sediment contributing to the increased invasive milfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum) and to filamentous algae growth observed over the past few years in Vaseux Lake.
In other words, why did Vaseux Lake have so much milfoil in 2015 and 2016?
Granted, the study was done in 2017/18 when water levels were at their highest in decades, so the VLSA thinks the results are not truly representative of WHY the problems exist.
Nevertheless, you may access the results of the Vaseux Lake Land Use and Water Quality Assessment here.
