Vaseux Lake Stewardship Board of Directors
Grant Temple, President
Grant has been an active member of the VLSA for over 5 years and joined the board in 2021 as Vice President. Grant’s long-term goal for the association and the lake community is to make the VLSA a voice for the protection of the Vaseux-Bighorn Wildlife Management Area, the Vaseux Lake Bird Sanctuary as well as to assist with the ecological protection of the wetlands and the waters that flow through our community. Grant would also like the VLSA to play an integral role in developing a safe walking or bike-riding route along Highway 97. As noted by Grant, “A trestle-like walkway around the tight corner on Highway 97 would be wonderful for our community! Aside from looking fantastic, the advantage would be connecting communities that cannot easily interact without vehicles. Fishermen would have an amazing perch and wildlife enthusiasts would have a spectacular view of one of the most photographed mountains in B.C., MacIntyre Bluff.”
Grant has 35 years in the education field in B.C. and is presently a special education teacher in the Surrey School District where he works with students with autism, learning disabilities, and language issues. Grant and his wife Michelle live in Langley when they are not living at Vaseux Lake.
