The purposes of the Vaseux Lake Stewardship Association are to:
To promote sound stewardship practices through:
(a) Providing educational materials
(b) Promoting community participation
(c) Liaising with other Organizations, Okanagan Nation Alliance, various levels of Government Agencies, Private Companies and Public Consultation.
(d) Disseminating information on stewardship initiatives.
(e) Monitoring and assessing environmentally sensitive activities that negatively affect the lake by causing siltation, milfoil growth and pollution;
(f) The protection of water quality, biodiversity, habitat, ecosystems, and watershed-based landscapes and preservation, reintroduction of native aquatic and land species.
(g) Preserving Vaseux Lake’s long term viability for the enjoyment of the public in a manner that prioritizes the conservation of the environment and section (e and f) of the constitution.
(h) We support the principals laid out in the Species at Risk Act as taking precedence to all actions supported by our Association, as this is an Act respecting the protection of wildlife species at risk
in Canada.
